This week I had both the highs and lows as my neck building exceeds my expectations before I'm knocked down a peg or two on the next stage. I also prep two guitar bodies ready for the stray-booth, and I do some CAD work on bass guitar work.

Two guitar bodies sit on the workbench, ready to go to the spray booth for painting. Both have a stick screwed into the neck pocket to be held in the clamp during spraying, and one has a cardboard mask on one side as only the rear will be painted.

Fixing up the details on my älgen guitar build, remodeling an in-progress older build to have a fresh new look, and I curse generally about letting electronics back into my life.

The bottom end of the wooden core of älgen has a copper-tape covered cavity with all the wiring in. To close this off, there is a laser-cut cover made from frosted-translucent orange acrylic. The cover has my initials, MWD, etched into it, along with 'Älgen Prototype 1'

An unusual looking guitar sat on a workbench. The guitar consists of a wooden central core that consists of the neck extends that profile through the body, and then the sides of the body are made from a 3D printed lattice. The guitar has no headstock, instead having tuners at the bridge.

A crude render of a blocky guitar design. There's a core bit of wood that runs the length of the guitar from where the headstock would be to the tail, with a fretboard glued on, and the sides of the body are a plastic lattice-work.

The CAD model of a guitar. It is a solid body electric guitar design, with an arched top, and two pointy curved upper horns to provide access to the higher frets. There is a small pickguard in the middle that houses two P90 pickups, and there are three control knobs.
